President John Mahama has said he will be engaging in international and regional duties when he hands over the Presidency on January 7, 2017.
The new passion, according the President, will be pursued after he takes a long break after his exit from the flagstaff House.
Speaking at the 50th ECOWAS session in Abuja, the President said he worked for three years without a break.
“My immediate impression is to take a long deserved rest. After three years of working without a single break, I guess that going forward I will be more engaged in sub regional, continental and global matters,” the President said.
This is first time Mr. Mahama is giving a glimpse of what he will be doing upon leaving the presidency following his defeat on the January 7, polls.
Meanwhile, officials of his party, the NDC, have been making public overtures for his return in 2020 when Ghana will be heading to the polls again.
Meanwhile, the outgoing government and the incoming one led by president-elect Nana Akufo-Addo have formed a transition team currently working for a smooth transfer of power from the Mahama administration to the NPP yet-to-formed government.
