Tanzania giants Azam FC have sacked their technical staff following a string of bad performances in the league.

The technical bench headed by Spanish Zeben Hernandez was relieved of their duties following abysmal performance by the Ice Cream Makers in the Vodacom Premier League (VPL).

Under Hernandez, the 2015 CECAFA Kagame Cup winners find themselves 4th on the log after 17 games with 27 points after winning just 7, lost 4 and drawn 6.

The Spaniard has been axed along with his assistants Romero, Jonas Garcia, Pablo Borges as well as team physio Jose Garcia and Sergio Perez.

The club has appointed Kalimangonga Ongala coach as the replacement and is expected to start his rein in the Mapinduzi Cup.

It is the third time he returns to the club where he has previously worked as assistant to Briton Stewart Hall and Cameroonian John Omog.

The new man has already gotten support from one of his former bosses, Hall

I think Kally Ongala will be good, I support him,” Stewart Hall endorsement of Azam ‘U-turn’

Hall is currently the head coach of KPL side AFC Leopards but was in charge at Azam as they won the Kagame Cup last year.

This means  Ghanaian trio of Yahaya Mohammed,Enock Atta Adjei  and Daniel Adjei will train under a new coach.
