Ghana champions Wa All Stars and FA Cup winners Bechem United will today know their opponents in next year’s CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup respectively when the draw for the competition is done.

The draw comes off in Cairo, Egypt with 55 teams entering the CAF Champions League whilst the CAF Confederations Cup will have 51 clubs from across the continent.

The preliminary rounds of the Champions League will begin in mid-February with the group stages slated for May.

Next year, the Champions League will be played on a new format with 16 teams drawn into four groups of four clubs playing a mini-league.
The top two teams in each group will qualify for the quarterfinals to be played on a knockout basis.

All Stars won the Ghana Premier League last season and will feature in the Champions League for the first time whiles Bechem United will also debuting on the continent.
