The West African Examination Council is withholding the results of some 668 students who took part in the 2016 NOV-DEC examination over malpractices.

In a statement WAEC said the results will be released after investigations being conducted into reports of misconduct by the affected students are completed.

“The results of 668 candidates alleged to have been involved in various examination malpractices have been withheld pending the conclusion of investigations into the cases of malpractices. The withheld results will be released as soon as the Council concludes its investigations,” the statement noted.

Meanwhile, the council has also released the results of 128,707 private candidates who sat for the WASSCE.

WAEC is however urging accredited educational institutions to be vigilant and scrutinise the certificates that are presented by students before they are admitted.

WAEC added that all “forged results can be detected by the confirmation/verification system” or via its website  www.waecgh.org
