Uganda are set to play yet another international friendly against Slovenia in Dubai on Friday.
The match, according to the head coach, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredejovic shall be a closed door affair.
This game comes barely 48 hours after the 2-0 loss to Tunisia at the Stade El Menzah in Tunis on 4th January 2017.
To Micho, the basis of this match is further to polish the players ahead of the AFCON 2017 tournament.
The Slovenia match was not originally on the planned schedule of games that the Uganda Cranes would play in the build up to the final tournament in Gabon.
On 8th January 2017, the team will take on Slovakia and three days later play the African Champions, Cote D’Ivoire.
All the three friendly games against Slovenia, Slovakia and Cote D’Ivoire are in Dubai where the team shifted from Tunisia.
Slovenia is ranked 51st in the current FIFA Rankings, a joint position with Nigeria (both countries have 616 points).
Slovakia is 25th whilst Cote D’Ivoire sits at 34th. Meanwhile, Uganda is a distant 71st, but remains the CECAFA’s best footballing country by far.
Uganda Cranes’ 17th January 2017 opponents, Ghana are also camping in the United Arab Emirates.
