The Minority Chief Whip in Parliament Alhaji Muntaka Mubarak has hailed the performance of the Finance Minister-designate Ken Ofori Ofori Atta when he appeared before the Appointment Committee for vetting.

“The Finance Minister impressed me so much that at a point he disarmed me. I couldn’t ask further questions,” the Asawase Member of Parliament told Morning Starr Host Nii Arday Clegg Tuesday morning.

He added that the Minister-designate was truthful in his delivery and was very calm despite some provocative moments.

He, however, stated that he doubts if Mr. Ofori Atta’s soft nature can propel him to success at the Finance Ministry.

Hon. Muntaka confirmed eight nominees who appeared before the committee have been approved but the approval of two others is in limbo.

Suhuyini flouted the parliamentary rules.

Hon. Muntaka also waded into the controversy that erupted between the chairman of the committee Joseph Osei Owusu and Alhassan Suhuyini Member of Parliament for Tamale North Monday.

According to Muntaka, the new MP flouted parliamentary rules and showed gross disrespect to the chair and members of the committee.

He, however, added Suhuyini will not be impressed upon to offer any apology since he was punished by the Chairman of the committee.
