Policy adviser at the Africa Center for Energy Policy Dr. Ismael Ackah is calling on government to immediately consider a release of a time table for the load shedding exercise.

He told Starr business the shortfalls in Ghana’s energy situation is affecting the planning of major institutions. Dr. Ackah said consumers need to be told when their lights will go off.

“Last week we were doing average of 170 megawatts  load shedding during off peak time and about 200 during peak time so consumers are supposed to be informed as to what is going on,” Dr. Ackah insisted.

He added: “Give us a time table so people can plan. I also know that last week VRA got some fuel and this treatment will take about  9-14 days so the situation is going to be temporal, but we still need to be informed and given a timetable and not just a time table but plans the government has made”.

The Akufo-Addo government is yet to issue an official statement on the situation.
