Ghana’s Black Stars climbed nine places up on Thursday’s edition of the Coca-Cola/FIFA ranking after finishing fourth at the just ended Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

The Black Stars, previously ranked 54th are now 45th on the World ranking having reached the semi-finals of the AFCON

Ghana also moved from the 9th position on the Africa continent to 8th just one place.

Africa Champions Cameroon moved 29 places on the ranking to occupy the 33rd position on the globe where as finalist and seven-time Africa Champions Egypt stay top on the Africa ranking and 23rd in the World despite placing second at the AFCON

Cote d’ Ivory dropped to 47th in the World and 9th in Africa behind Ghana

Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Chile and Belgium are still ranked the top five countries in the World.
