The Youth and Sports Minister-designate Isaac Asiamah has vowed to fight corruption at the ministry.
The Sports Ministry has often been perceived as a corrupt ministry which ultimately leads to the failure of several minsters.
Under the previous National Democratic Congress administration, over eight ministers superintended over the Sports ministry alone in eight years with most of them exiting amid scandals and controversy.
Appearing before Parliament’s Appointments Committee Tuesday, Asiamah stated that his administration will put in place mechanisms that will ensure that corruption is erased from the ministry.
“My party is the party of rule of law…if you are found to have embezzled funds or corrupted yourself, the law must deal with you,” Asiamah said.
The Atwima-Mponua Member of Parliament added “I am going to provide a leadership that fights corruption at the ministry.”
