The Minister-designate for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Samuel Kofi Dzamesi, has hinted he will start a Royal College for Chiefs should Parliament approve his nomination.

Responding to questions by the appointments committee of Parliament, Mr. Dzamesi said the College will be a program to school Chiefs to enable them understand the laws of Ghana.

“I think that what we need to do is actually to educate some of the chiefs. So it is my intention that if I become a minister I will start what we call a royal college that will offer opportunities to the chiefs to understand some of the laws of this country,” he said.

Mr. Dzamesi also recommended a book which contains the Code of Ethics for chiefs, adding it will guide the chiefs and traditional leaders to do the right thing at all times.

According to him, although the chiefs may be in the known of the law, they may not know everything, hence the code of ethics will be a great deal of help to them.
