The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has picked his sister Nana Ama Konadu as the next Asantehemaa (Queen mother) to succeed Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II, who died November 2016.
The 88-year-old is a sister of the Ashanti Monarch and the first daughter of the late queen mother.
The new Asantehemaa will be outdoored at the 80th day observance of Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi Monday.
The Asantehene is expected to sit in State at 2pm to officially unveil his choice.
