StarLife Assurance has donated a mini bus to the University of Ghana as part of efforts to facilitate the movement of students with special needs.

The bus worth Gh¢160,000 was handed to the Office of Students with Special Needs on Thursday.

The Chief Distribution Officer at StarLife, Nashiru Iddrisu said the donation which forms part of its corporate social responsibility was necessitated by a distress call from the Vice Chancellor of the University to support the group.

“It is always difficult to have students with special needs compete with normal students, in terms of boarding of bus for lectures and all other activities. We believe this move will help aid their movement on campus,” Mr. Iddrisu noted.

The insurance company has been supporting the school since 2008.

It has in the past, partnered the University of Ghana Business School, to provide financial literacy to doctors and nurses, Alumni final year students career development among others.
