Starr FM’s Peter Owusu has received nomination at the 25th edition of the Pan African Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO).

His short film, ‘Down Side Up’ which he shot as part of his final year project at the University of Ghana has been selected as one of the best student films.

The University of Ghana will be represented at the 25th edition of the Pan African Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO), Burkina Faso from 25th February to 4th March, 2017 by the School of Performing Arts (SPA) with Owusu’s film ‘Down Side Up, in competition.

‘Down Side Up’, was written and directed by Peter Owusu in his final year in the University of Ghana. Peter Owusu who is a reporter at the Komla Dumor Newsroom at Starr FM makes history with his debut film.

African Flagship Film Festival, FESPACO was created in 1969, and this is the first time a film from the University of Ghana has been nominated.

‘Down Side Up’ made it through the rigorous selection processes and eventually got selected to compete in the official competition in the Students’ film category.

There is prize money and a trophy to be won.
