Starr Sports investigations have revealed that Weightlifting Boss, Ben Nunoo Mensah is likely to become the next President of the Ghana Olympic Committee.

Information gathered by Starr Sports indicate that Nunoo Mensah is heading for a landslide victory over incumbent President, Francis Dodoo.

Dodoo, who has been at the helm of affairs of the Olympic governing body since 2011, is vying for a second term but faces perhaps, his biggest challenge yet in Nunoo Mensah, who we understand has warmed his way into previously perceived strongholds of the former Olympian.

According to checks conducted by Starr Sports, 60 delegates will vote in Wednesday’s GOC Congress at the Alisa hotel, with an aspirant needing a simple majority to win the Presidential race.

The delegates comprising two delegations each from the 23 Olympic sports federations, 15 from the non-Olympic sport and federations affiliated to the GOC will elect a new president and 11 other officers to the various positions which make up the Executive Board of the GOC by the close of today.
