The owner and bankroller of Ghana’s premier league side Elmina Sharks, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, has assured all fans and supporters of their safety at the Nduom Sports Stadium.
A heavy downpour last Sunday evening in Cape Coast accompanied by thunderstorm, ripped off the roofing of the Nduom Sports Stadium.
This was after the game between the Elmina Sharks and WAFA in which the home team lost by two goals to one in the league.
There were no injuries to report as fans and players had left for home.
Dr. Nduom in a statement on Facebook on Monday said the safety of the people remains his guiding principle.
He revealed that ‘technical people have been assembled to determine why the roof and all the trusses could be blown away like that.’
‘We will ensure that end up with the best solution,’ he reiterated.
Dr. Nduom expressed his gratitude to God for ensuring that fans and players were unharmed after the roof of the club’s stadium came off following the rainstorm.
‘We are lucky for and I am grateful for that.’
