The head pastor of the Calvary Charismatic Church (CCC), Reverend Ransford Obeng, has urged the military to forgive the perpetrators of the murder of the late Captain Maxwell Mahama.
According to him, he sympathises with the family of the deceased service man whose death has thrown the whole nation into disbelief and mourning.
Speaking to the Ultimate News on the sidelines of a blood donation to mark his 61st birthday in Kumasi, Pastor Obeng said he is hopeful such atrocities will not repeat itself and that the Diaso community has learnt a great lesson.
“My message for the military is that God says vengeance is mine and so it is only God who has the right so let’s forgive them. In fact for even surrounding and walking through the village is a torment in itself and I believe the villagers have learnt a lesson and will not repeat it. I share their deep sorrow and it is not easy to lose a loved one so I sympathise with them,” he added.
The CCC Head Pastor also expressed delight at the swift condemnation, the political divides across the country have given the matter.
He noted: “I am so happy that for the first time, political parties all in parliament stood to condemn that act and I want to congratulate them for once. At least they have done something which is good”.
