The lives of about 130 pupils of Mintakrom M/A Primary School in the Akuapem North Municipality of the Eastern region are in grave danger as the school building accommodating them near collapse.

The mud classroom block constructed in 1987 through a communal labour has since not seen any renovation. The classrooms have developed deep cracks while the base of the building has been soaked with running surface water making it weak.

The roofs of the classrooms leak compelling school authorities to terminate teaching and learning to evacuate the pupils whenever it rains.

The School Management Committee on Friday supported the collapsing structure with stakes to avert total collapse.
