Ghana for the second time running failed to qualify for the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) after losing 2-1 to Burkina-Faso in the second leg of the final qualifier.
The Black Stars B could not take advantage of a 2-2 draw in the first leg as they suffered a painful defeat at the Babayara Sports Stadium.
Coach Maxwell Konadu and his team needed to avoid defeat to progress to the competition after a respectable score line in the first leg.
Sylla Mohammed and Nikiema Herman scored twice for the visitors in the first half.
Substitute Felix Addo who came on to replace Saddick Adams in the second half grabbed a consolation for the Black Stars B in the 64thminute.
Ghana failed to make use of the numerous opportunities in the second half with Patrick Razak, Isaac Twum and Thomas Abbey all emerging as culprits after missing glaring goal scoring opportunities.
The defeat sees Ghana losing 4-3 on aggregate hence missing out at the competition which will be hosted in Kenya.
The team will now have to shift their attention to the upcoming WAFU competition which begins in two-weeks time.
The final tournament will take place from 12 January to 4 February 2018 in Kenya.
