The Ashanti regional police has arrested the leader of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) Akua Donkor over a Gh¢10,500 fraud case against her.
The complainant in the case Ama Yeboah told the police the politician sold 33 acres of land for Gh¢300 per acre to her back in 2009 but has never known peace from Donkor’s relatives.
She said the relatives have prevented her from going on the land to develop it, adding Madam Donkor has failed to address the issue. She told Ultimate FM she later found out Donkor had no documents covering the land and all efforts to get a refund have proved futile.
Hearing that the politician has arrived in Kumasi, Yeboah, 45, reported the case to the police on Monday, October 23, 2017 upon which an arrest was made.
The police has confirmed the arrest and are currently investigating the case.
