Two Fulani herdsmen have been killed in Yendi in the Northern region after the herdsmen clashed with residents Sunday evening.
The two includes a fulani man who sought refuge at a Police Station in Yendi. According to reports, he was dragged out from the Police station and killed by the irate youth who besieged the security post.
The clashes happened after a native who went to buy a cow was killed by suspected Fulani robbers.
This sparked reprisal attacks by the youth leading to the death of the two Fulanis herdsmen.
Starr FM’s Northern regional correspondent, Eliasu Tanko reports that the Police has taken control of the situation in the area.
Meanwhile, the Kwahu Youth for Social Development is warning that the recent attacks on indigenes by Fulani herdsmen in the area is a threat to development.
According to the group, the activities of the nomadic herdsmen has led to the loss of about nine lives in the district recently.
The group is calling on government to as a matter of urgency reinforce security in the district to protect lives and properties.
This comes after eight persons were reportedly killed in clashes between Fulanis herdsmen and locals in Kwahu in the Eastern region.
Among the dead are five Fulanis and three local residents.
