The Koforidua Circuit Court has granted bail to a Matron and a Driver of Ghana Senior High School (GHANASS) in the Eastern region for allegedly stealing foodstuff from the school.
The accused persons, Comfort Oduro Bruce and Alfred Kumah pleaded not guilty when charged with stealing and abetment of crime respectively.
The Court granted them Ghc30,000 bail with two sureties each, and ordered them to report to the Police daily before the next adjourned date of December 20, 2017.
Prosecuting officer with the Attorney General’s office Dickson Donkor told the Court Tuesday that, on November 16, 2017, the accused persons attempted to smuggle quantities of food items from the school with a Pick Up belonging to the Regional Education Directorate to an unknown destination.
However, upon tip off, the security man on duty arrested the duo and school authorities handed them over to the police for prosecution.
