His Majesty Kampakuya- Naa Abdulai Yakubu Andani has charged the Starr Woman Dream Edition Project to ensure that the project is sustained to fully achieve its noble objective of empowering young women entrepreneurs with disabilities in the municipality.

Receiving the Project Team led by EIB Network’s Group Managing News Editor, Eyram Bashan at the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi, His Majesty Naa Abdulai Yakubu Andani lauded the Starr Woman Dream initiative as a much needed local intervention to address the vulnerability of young girls with disabilities in his kingdom.

He bemoaned how a number of such ladies often become sexually exploited, leaving them further impoverished.

The Regent is very optimistic about the success of the project but warned the team to stay for the long haul and ensure its life span is not threatened by any excuse of financial constraints.

“Any objective to take our ladies off the streets begging to a position where they become financially independent is definitely a project we want to see succeed in Yendi, so make sure you don’t leave earlier than expected,” he added.

Eyram Bashan assured His Majesty of the team’s commitment to pursue the project’s goal at all cost. She disclosed that many institutions have already expressed interest in partnering the project to expand its multiplier effect and sustainability.

Starr Woman Dream Edition, a Starr FM program is a national advocacy project funded by Star Ghana – championing inclusive entrepreneurship drive focusing on young women entrepreneurs with disabilities.

The project train is currently in the Yendi Municipality staging a grand stakeholders’ forum and entrepreneurship mentoring clinic to address limitations to entrepreneurship dreams of young people with disabilities.
