A group calling itself Sefwiman Nkosuo and Friends of Alfred Obeng Boateng, in the Western region is accusing bigwigs in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of a ploy to tarnish the reputation of the embattled CEO of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST).
Mr Boateng has been through a baptism of fire since he took office. He was first accused of overseeing the sale of some five million litres of contaminated fuel to unlicensed companies and just recently the sale of 1.8million barrels of crude oil at a discounted price of $2.
The transaction with BB Energy Company, according to the Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC) led to the loss of GH¢23million in revenue to the state.
It has since announced its resolve to petition the Office of the Special Prosecutor manned by anti-corruption crusader Martin Amidu to launch a forensic audit into the alleged shady deal.
The numerous scandals hitting BOST and Mr. Boateng, according to the group were deliberately masterminded to get President Akufo-Addo to relieve him of his post.
Addressing journalists in Sefwi, a leading member of Sefwi Nkosuo Youth, Nana Osei Joseph Okyere, warned people he called NPP backbiters to desist from their act or face the wrath of their gods.
He insisted the town folk and the sympathizers of Mr. Boateng will go all lengths to ensure that their kin, is not targeted for victimization and ill treatment saying: “Alfred Obeng Boateng is a rich man. He is at BOST to help build the nation and not to steal. The stomach politicians are not happy that he has blocked all the holes where they cannot steal and have resorted to hatred.”
