Ghanaian rap artiste, Kwesi Arthur has been nominated in this year’s Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards, viewers choice category.
The ‘Grind Day’ singer took to Instagram after the news about his nomination went viral to express his excitement about the nomination and more importantly urged Ghanaians to support him to take his music and Ghana to the world. He wrote;
“This journey just gets crazier each day, who ever thought a kid from C9-Tema, Ghana would be nominated for such a prestigious award!! We thank God for the grace, and I can’t thank you people enough for your support! He has been nominated in the same category with South African artiste Sjava and Nigerian singer Niniola.
Kwesi Arthur who won the Hip-Pop song of the Year at the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards has won the hearts of most music lovers with songs like ‘Grind Day,’ ‘Ade Akye’ and ‘Anthem.’
The BET Awards was established in 2001 by the Black Entertainment Television network to celebrate African Americans and other American minorities in music, acting, sports, and other fields of entertainment over the past year.
The awards are presented annually, and are broadcast live on BET. The annual presentation ceremony features performances by artistes, and some of the awards of more popular interest are presented in a televised ceremony.
The BET Awards will air live on BET on June 24 from Los Angeles. It will be hosted by Jamie Foxx.
