The Afua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra is set to receive a major facelift as government has secured a private investor to revamp the national facility, Minister of Tourism and Creative Arts Catherine Afeku has revealed.
According to the minister, the facility has been redesigned on paper by a Ghanaian architect with additional fittings for the convenience of Ghanaians who will use it.
“We have managed to get an investor, we have the drawings. It’s actually going to be an open space park where you can have a little concert, a bike trail, a little gym and a library. It is designed by David Adjei and Associates so it is top notch. And everything is ready and it is a Ghanaian investor.
“They gave July for the commencement of work and they are coming to town next week so they will be in a better position to discuss it. But everything is ready and it is beautiful,” she told Bola Ray on Starr Chat Wednesday.
The Member of Parliament also disclosed that her ministry is putting measures in place to enhance the state of Ghanaian beaches in order to make them more attractive to tourists.
