A national Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer hopeful Alban Bagbin on Thursday predicted there will be a shock in the party’s contest for a flagbearer.

Speaking on Morning Starr ahead of the polls to be held on February 23, Mr Bagbin said: “People will have another shock” an obvious reference to the defeat the NDC suffered in the hands of the NPP in the 2016 elections.

The NDC in that election was heavily tipped to be victorious by a research conducted by Editor of the Daily Dispatch newspaper and pollster Ben Ephson.

The research predicted a ‘one-touch’ victory for former president John Mahama.

According to the poll, Mahama would garner 52.4 per cent of the votes whilst his main rival Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would get 45.9 per cent.

The outcome of the election was the other way round with the NPP’s Akufo-Addo winning.

“People going round with all these media frenzies will have another shock. I’ll triumph and will win this flagbearership race. Vote Bagbin!” Bagbin who is also the second deputy speaker of Parliament said.

Bagbin is in the battle for the NDC flagbearership with five others including Spio Garbrah and Joshua Alabi.
