Residents of Hwakpo in Ada West District of the Greater Accra region have called on the government to beef up security in the community following the murder of one person there as a result of a land dispute.

Also, acres of farms have been burnt as a result of the dispute which occurred last week.

The residents warned the community is on the brink of anarchy following the dispute, therefore calling for security beef up to stall it.

“The community has nearly erupted into a full bloody clash” but for the timely intervention of the District Police Command, a resident told Starrfm.com.gh

The Awheh’s and Populamp family are both laying claim to the lands on which the farms were burnt.

David Awheh one of the farmers, whose farm was destroyed said the current tension has put fear in farmers in the community as he accused the police of being slow in taking action in the mounting tension.

Meanwhile, the District Police Commander, DSP George Aboagye said one person has been arrested over the incident.
