The Church of Pentecost has commissioned an Ultra-Modern Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Laboratory attached with a Library at Akyem Nkronso in the East Akyem municipality of the Eastern Region.

The GH¢102,307.00 project initiated in 2015  by the Hallelujah Assembly of the Church in Apedwa with top-up funding support from the Suhum Area Office of the Church of Pentecost is one of a kind in the area. The well-furnished facility is expected to serve school children and students in Nkronso, Apedwa, Asafo and Akooko communities.

The Suhum Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Anthony Eghan Kwesi Ekuban said the project is part of community-based interventions by the Church to improve the living standards of Ghanaians.

He said the Church as part of the vision 2023 Agenda of “possessing the nations”, will continue to roll out many initiatives to help Ghana achieve the sustainable development goals particularly on Education, Health, water, and sanitation.

The Municipal Chief Executive of Abuakwa South, Kojo Ofori-Sarfo commended the Church for its contribution to the development of Ghana. He added that “If all other institutions would emulate this benevolence, government’s burden would be lessened.”

The East Akyem Municipal Director of Education, Mrs. Grace Owusua Addo said Library and ICT are very important in quality education delivery; therefore, hopeful the facility would help improve the academic performance of students in the area.

During the dedication service, Mr. Raphael John Marfo, the Director of Port Health Unit of the Ghana Health Service donated four high-speed computers and accessories worth GH¢10, 000 to supplement the effort of the Church.
