Some irate supporters of the New Patriotic Party, in the Krachi West Constituency in the Oti Region, on Tuesday stormed the District Assembly office and chased out the District Chief Executive.

The youth after chasing out Douglas Osei-Nti, locked the office and handed over the DCE to the Police.

The NPP supporters are accusing Mr. Osei-Nti of engaging in acts that have made the NPP unpopular in the constituency.

They claim that Mr. Osei-Nti has become arrogant and engaging in corrupt deals. They also claim that the DCE keeps awarding contracts to himself and has acquired a landing beach contrary to the terms of his office.

Speaking to Starr News, one of the supporters said they have petitioned the President to remove the DCE because his actions have made the NPP unattractive to the supporters in the constituency.

It’s unclear if the Police have made any arrests as they begin investigations into the incident.

But Mr. Osei-Nti who spoke to Starr News’ Atiewin Mbilla-Lawson briefly stated that he is safe and will return to his office tomorrow to continue with his work.
