Former Black Stars striker, Felix Aboagye, has warned the perceived strong teams at the 2019 Africa Nations Cup not to underrate any team, saying there were no longer minnows on the continent.

Aboagye, who spoke on spoke on GHOne TV’s ongoing Soccer Fiesta, said the results witnessed so far in the competition were proof of this.

He said, “The Nations Cup has gone beyond what people used to talk about. In times past, there were teams that were called ‘giants of Africa’, like Nigeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco, Cameroon, Algeria and Ghana my own country

“But now, many countries have improved, they have worked on how they can improve and they have gotten it perfectly well.

“It means African football is improving year-in-year-out, because we have people from other countries who did well to make sure that their various countries qualified for the AFCON.

“Take for instance Tanzania, it has taken them a very long time without going to the Nations Cup and here they are today through Emmanuel Amuneke, who helped to build a very strong team to ensure they are there.

“So, we are improving every day, the standard of the game is very high. Look at what Madagascar did on Saturday, nobody believed that they could lead Guinea 2-1 before Guinea equalised. So, we should not underrate any country.”

Meanwhile, some great players and others will later join the crew of analysts at the live studios of GHOne TV to broadcast  the rest  AFCON 2019 matches.
