The Consul General of the Consulate General of Ghana in New York Professor Samuel Amoako has admonished Ghanaians living abroad to come to Ghana to put their shoulders to the wheels of the developmental agenda.
He made this call, when as part of The Roadshow of the Ghana Mission and Consulate General in New York for the upcoming Diaspora Celebration and Homecoming Summit from July 3rd to 6th, 2019 in Accra, visited the Abundant Life Baptist Church in the Bronx, New York.
The second edition of the Ghana Diaspora Homecoming Summit is under the leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and supervised by the Diaspora Affairs, Office of the President.
The summit is in fulfillment of the President’s continuous commitment to establish a foundation for a productive and mutually beneficial relationship between the Government of Ghana and Ghanaians overseas.
This year’s theme is “Recognizing the potential of Ghanaian Diaspora.”
The Consul General, on behalf of the Ghana Mission also took the opportunity to reveal how strategic and imperative this Summit offers. “At this summit you will get the chance to network with others from other countries, who share your vision and goals”.
He also advised that, their focus, if they decide to resettle in Ghana, must be on establishing their own businesses no matter how small, rather than depending on government for a job.
“At the summit, all sectors of the economy will be represented to interact with participants”, Professor Amoako revealed.
