England captain Harry Kane is not putting blame on VAR after his side was eliminated from the Nations League by Netherlands.
England settled for a 1-1 draw with Holland in regular time but were knocked out after suffering a 3-1 defeat in the extra time. With the score level, Jesse Lingard scored what looked like the winner in the 83rd minute but the goal was disallowed sending the tie to extra time.
And Kane refused to blame the crucial VAR decision for England’s defeat to the Netherlands.
“The longer it (the review) goes on you start to get a bit worried. It’s what VAR is there for, it’s hard because you celebrate and think you have won but it’s what we all have to get used it. We have to take it on the chin,” said Kane.
Netherlands will now take on Portugal in the finals of the Nations League on Sunday 9th.
