President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed his disappointment over the exit of the Black Stars from the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Ghana crashed out on the ongoing tournament in Egypt after losing 5-4 on penalties to Tunisia at the round 16 stage Monday night.

The exit means Ghana’s performance is the worse since 2006 when they exited in the group stages.

Reacting to the exit of the Black Stars in a tweet, Mr. Akufo-Addo, who had earlier charged the team to return home with the trophy, expressed confidence that the team will bounce back even stronger.

“Like most Ghanaians, I am gutted by the exit of the Black Stars at Afcon 2019. I wish the team better luck next time. I am confident they will bounce back even stronger, and make all of us proud once again,” Mr. Akufo-Addo tweeted.
