Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Odododiodoo constituency led by its chairman Raymond Tettey have purchased a primaries nomination form for the 2016 Parliamentary candidate Nii Lante Bannerman.

According to the executives, Mr Bannerman was the best shot for the NPP to win power in the constituency for the next parliamentary elections in 2020.

They explained their decision to pick the forms for him was to show appreciation for the support he has given them over the years, including organizing free vacation classes for students in the constituency and donations during festivities.

The executives did not only pick nomination forms for him in the ongoing parliamentary primary but also paid for the filing fee which cost GhC 2,000 and GhC 10,000 respectively.

Mr Tettey said “executives are paying for the nomination for him. We can’t pay him back for so much he has done for us. He assisted us to nurture the constituency.”

He added: “We want to assure you that we will not prevent anybody who wants to come, but as constituency executives, we are solidly behind you because we know the work you have done for us and we will not turn our backs against it.”

Mr Bannerman who seemed surprised about the kind gesture thanked the executives for not relenting on their word of support, adding that he was ready to work with them to deliver the party to victory.

He said “as we get into the primaries let’s still respect each other devoid of insults and fights that may divide us. As a party we are siblings.”

Party executives who joined to handover the forms to Bannerman included second Vice Chairman, Mahmoud Caesar, constituency Secretary, Samuel Nii Lankai Lamptey, Deputy Organiser, Yakubu Mumuni, constituency Organiser, Nii Amarlai Laryea, Youth Organiser, Walters Ofei Bruce Tagoe and his deputy, Collins Opoku, Deputy Women’s Organiser, Hajia Barikisu and Communications Officer, Malik Abbey.
