Theresa Lardi Awuni has joined the race for the Okaikoi North constituency primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
She was accompanied by scores of fans to file on Friday at the constituency office.
The former GIMPA TEIN Women Commissioner and a three-time Constituency Women’s Organiser of Okaikoi North Constituency believes she has what it takes to annex the seat for the party.
The primaries is slated for August 24, 2019.
Awuni describes herself as a “bold, assertive, multifaceted politician and Child and Women advocate, who is well known by the electorate in my Constituency and beyond.”
She added: “Being heard and making a difference; are the reasons I wanted to get into politics since I was a teenager. My passion for social justice, making a tangible difference in the community and resolving people’s problems makes me the ideal candidate for a demanding position in politics.”
The Project Management Practitioner, former Election Director, former Branch Chairperson, former Branch Secretary in Okaikoi North Constituency and National Communication Team member of the NDC said “my vision is to ensure the NDC becomes the first choice for first time voters and floating voters in Okaikoi North Constituency.”
Describing herself as the best foot forward for the party in the constituency, TAwuni assured that she will provide unbridled loyalty and commitment towards party activities and growth, unifying and converging all party members into an effective and efficient conduit for the mobilization – propagation of party achievement, policies and goals etc.
Awuni also assured the party of a civil, mature and decorous campaign, stating that the interest of the party is supreme in whatever she and her campaign team will endeavour to do.
The Parliamentary aspirant expressed her gratitude to executives, delegates and party members for their continuous commitment, loyalty and dedication towards party activities and the agenda to wrestle power from the clueless, incompetent, inept and nepotistic government of the NPP administration.
She is contesting three others.
