Ghana’s teenage high jumper, Rose Amoaniamaa Yeboah has won Ghana’s first Gold medal at the ongoing  African Games.

The 17-year-old ensured Ghana moved up the medal table by finishing first in the Women’s High Jump event.

Yeboah made a jump of 1.84m to finish top among her competitors.

She beat Moroccan Rhizlane Siba and Ariyat Dibow Ubang from Ethiopia who placed second and third respectively.

Prior to her feat, Ghana had only won four bronze medals so far in Weightlifting and Boxing. The addition makes it five for team Ghana.

Abigail Kwartey on the other hand managed an eighth placed finish in the Women’s High Jump event with a jump of 1.75.
