Danish Ambassador to Ghana, Tove Gegnbol

The Danish Ambassador to Ghana, Tove Gegnbol has extolled Ghana’s Auditor-General, Mr Daniel Domelevo and Special Prosecutor Mr Martin Amidu as ‘superheroes’ for their untiring fight against corruption.

Speaking at the launch of the Ghana Integrity Awards in Accra on Wednesday, August 14, 2019, Ms Gegnbol said duo are hugely admired by the international community for their unalloyed opposition to corruption in Ghana.

“I had the pleasure of travelling with both fine respectable gentlemen to the International Conference on anti-corruption last year in October. It made a deep impression on me to see how participants from other countries admired the two. The fact that the audit reports are published as soon as they are edited is meeting best international practices,” she stated.

“Ghana is fortunate to have two such persons, who, in my view, are superheroes when it comes to combating corruption,” she added.

Ms Gegnbol also exalted President Akufo-Addo for establishing the office of the special prosecutor and appointing Mr Amidu to head it in his fight against corruption.

“The president made a bold move when an election promise was put into practice and it was even more remarkable that he appointed the person who was completely independent of powerful interests,” she said.
