Reigning English Premier League champions Manchester City have escaped a transfer embargo despite being found guilty by FIFA.

City have been fined 370,000 Swiss francs by world football’s governing body, FIFA after admitting to breaching regulations on the registration of under-18s. The Premier League champions potentially faced a year-long worldwide transfer ban, similar to the punishment Chelsea received from Fifa earlier this year.

Chelsea have been unable to make transfers this summer after being found guilty of breaking the framework by the Court of Arbitration for Sport after they contested the FIFA Disciplinary Committee’s decision.

City remain under investigation by Uefa, who are probing their compliance with Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules. A ban from next season’s Champions League is a possible punishment.
