The Nigerian High Commissioner to Ghana, Femi Michael Abikoye, has urged the Ghanaian media to be circumspect in it reportage about Nigerians in the country.

According to the High Commissioner, though there is nothing that can destroy the relationship between the two countries it is important Journalists refrain from highlighting the little negative incidents perpetuated by Nigerians to outshine the many positive things happening between the two countries.

Speaking at the official inauguration of the newly elected Eastern Regional Executives of “All Nigerian Community Ghana,” the High Commissioner advised Nigerians in Ghana to be law abiding and be mindful of their behaviour.

“If you don’t obey the law, if you run of the law, if you run foul of the law then you mess me up and you don’t only mess me up, you mess the name Nigeria up…so be law abiding, if you are law abiding then everything will work for us…when it comes to Ghana and Nigeria nobody can separate us.”

The immediate past Eastern Regional President of “All Nigerian Community Ghana” Chief Emmanuel Nwaneli said the efficiency of the association has helped unite and regulate conduct of its members while helping to resolve challenges facing Nigerians in the Eastern region.
