Ghanaian sports journalist Akosua Addai Amoo has been selected by the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) as one of the seven young journalists to undergo training and coverage of the 2019 Africa Games in Rabat.

From a very competitive pool of 63 young sports journalists from 20 African countries who submitted applications, Amoo was one of just seven who made the cut.

The University of Ghana graduate student saw her works graded as ‘excellent’. Amoo has, since 2017, worked as a freelance sports journalist appearing on major Ghanaian networks like GTV, GHONE, CITI TV bagging considerable experience in sports broadcasting along the way.

The Wesley Girls’ High School product has a knack for writing and was formerly a sports anchor and producer at Metro TV.

 

Akosua will be in Morocco from August 17 to August 31, working for the prestigious AIPS Africa and AIPS websites.

 

The International Sports Press Association (AIPS) is the professional body representing all international sports media, with more than 9,500 members worldwide. Its local affiliate is the Sports Writers Association of Ghana.
