Tension is escalating within the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Yilo Krobo Constituency of the Eastern Region over some alleged clandestine attempts to disqualify an aspiring parliamentary hopeful Albert Nyakotey Tetteh.

The Yilo Krobo NDC Primaries is being contested by Andrews Soda former MCE, Michael Ologo, both declared by the party to contest while the legitimacy of Albert Nyakotey Tetteh is yet to be determined by the party over alleged petition against him by a member.

Barely two weeks to the primaries, the fate of Albert Nyarkotey is still not known compelling 80 out of 133 concerned branch chairmen and some members of the party to hold emergency press conference Wednesday August 14,2019 cautioning the National executives of the party to allow all the three aspirants to contest the primaries or risk losing the Yilo Krobo seat to the NPP in 2020 election.

The press conference addressed by Desmond Djabadey – a branch chairman also accused the National Chairman of NDC Samuel Ofosu Ampofo of being the mastermind behind the machinations to disqualify Mr.Tetteh Nyakotey in favor of Micheal Ologo ,who is Manager of his radio stations.

Meanwhile, hundreds of NDC Party members and branch executives in the constituency are threatening to resign en bloc from the party should the party disallow Mr. Albert Nyakotey Tetteh from contesting the up coming Parliamentary election.

The Concerned branch Chairmen are therefore calling on President John Dramani Mahama,flagbearer of the Party to intervene before the fortunes of the party is dwindles in the constituency which has shown consistent loyalty to the NDC.
