Health Minister, Kwaku Agyemang-Manu

The Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyeman Manu, has said the government will distribute 275 ambulances across all constituencies, as promised, by the end of the year.

Mr Manu’s comments contradict that of Mavis Hawa Koomson, Minister of Special Development Initiatives who said the ambulances would be available April this year.

Ghana has a total of 155 ambulances of which only 55 are functional, providing services to all the 16 regions of the country.

Mr Manu Speaking during a two-day visit of  President Akufo-Addo to the Upper East Region, assured that government would provide all the 275 constituencies ambulances by the end of 2019.

“The health sector is so lucky that by close of the year, we should have completed distributing close to 275 ambulances to all districts of this country,” he stated.

The purchase of the ambulances is funded from the $1 million per constituency.
