The Abiola Bawuah Foundation (ABF), a non-profit organisation with the aim of supporting intelligent but needy school girls has donated learning materials  to girls in the Ashanti Region.

The donation forms part of the “100 Girls Support Project” which aims to provide opportunities to improve the lives of deprived school girls and build bridges to connect them to basic amenities needed for their development.

The items included school bags, foot wears, stationery sets, school uniforms, torchlights amongst other things. The donation was made to school girls from Nsiakrom, Adinkrakrom and Adumkrom all in the Asante -Akyem District of the Ashanti Region.

Head teachers of the various schools who could not hide their joy said the donation could not have come at a better time especially when most of the schoolchildren lacked basic school items.

“ABF’s timely intervention is heaven-sent because these kids lack all that they have received today. For some, it is party to them”, one of the head teachers said.
With support from sponsors such as FanMilk Ghana Limited, Unilever Ghana and Voltic Ghana Limited, the team also gave the children products to enjoy.

Project Officer of the Abiola Bawuah Foundation, Miss Geraldine Osafo Ntiri said the three communities had been waiting for the team for over three months and therefore the residents could not hide their joy when the team arrived.

She said the Abiola Bawuah Foundation is bent on ensuring that school. girls in the country do not face any challenges.
