Sylvester Mensah is CEO of the National Youth Authority

The new appointed CEO of the National Youth Authority Sylvester Mensah has promised to instill discipline and innovation at the firm.

According to him, he will be fair and professional in his engagement with stakeholders of the authority regardless of their perceived political affiliation.

Speaking to Francis Abban on the Morning Starr Monday, Mr. Mensah appealed to Ghanaians to desist from politicising matters of youth development.

“I’ll do the necessary shakeups at the NYA when need be. When you take on a new role at a organization everyone wants to impress so I’m still observing the entire team to know people for who they are. Ever since I was appointed I get to the office at 7am and I close around 10pm.

“Punctuality for me is key. The staff I’m told arrive at 8:30am but I’m putting in place measures to have staff log in electronically when they report at work. The issues of the youth is not one to be politicized. The young people are the future of the country and must be given equal opportunities”.

Mr. Mensah was appointed to the job following the dismissal of Emmanuel Asigri who was hit with a procurement scandal. He was removed with his deputies.
