A 48 year-old-man has allegedly committed suicide after a misunderstanding ensued him and his wife .
The incident happened at Alotoso, a farming community in the Atewa East District of the Eastern Region.
The body of the deceased,Yaw Bempong, has been retrieved and deposited at the Kibi Government Hospital morgue.
According to uncle of the deceased, Opanyin Yaw Boamah, the deceased had a misunderstanding with the wife on Friday October 11,2019 and subsequently disappeared from the house.
A search party however found him dead in his cocoa farm around 4:30pm.
The Anyinam Police was informed upon which Police team was dispatched to the scene in the company of relatives of the deceased.
According to Police report “the body of deceased Yaw Bempong was found lying on the ground in a wooden room in a supine position on his cocoa farm. The chest was covered with a white cloth partially soaked in blood.
Inspection of the body revealed a deep cut on the left portion of his mouth .
The area was thoroughly searched but no offensive weapon was found to suggest that it was used by the deceased.
The Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, Sergent Francis Gomado said investigation into the incident has commenced.
