A big mammal believed to be a whale has been washed ashore at Bakano in Sekondi.

This has attracted many people from all walks of life to move to the scene to catch a glimpse of the mammal.

Not even the offensive stench could stop the residents from tripping to the shore.

Some concerned residents told Empire News’ Emmanuel Ohene-Gyan they are waiting for the environmental health department of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis and the fisheries Commission either to put in place measures to mitigate the offensive stench or bury it.

Ohene-Gyan reports that at the time of leaving the scene, no official from the STMA was around despite persistent calls from the residents to move the dead whale from the area.
