Vocal powerhouse and former SarkCess Music signee has disclosed that his management deal with Sarkodie’s ‘SarkCess music’ label has come to an end.

According to the singer, he may renew the contract depending on the new deal agreed upon, as he is still in talks with the label.

Sarkcess Music came under social media backlash when the contract of former label signee Strongman ended with the public trolling Sarkodie for not investing as much in the act and also forcing him to do commercial music.

Akwaboah touching on his contract to KOD and Cookie Tee on the Starr Drive Monday revealed that, Sarkodie on the contrary, encouraged him to stick to his style.

When asked whether he was still on the label he said “we are still talking. You know we actually signed for 3 years and it’s now up.  But then we still talking as to whether we want to continue.”

Detailing the contract arrangement he said “it was a 50-50 deal with him. Everything I make we split 50. And then he wasn’t giving me any pressure to do like up-tempo songs.”

“You know when you are on a record label, record labels will tell you do this because we need quick money and then after 4 to 5 years they are nowhere to be found, which is the artistes,” he noted.

He added “but Sark wouldn’t give me any pressure and everything. He was like do you, because this is the way some people went and then they fell out. So be you, do you and do what fits you.”

On his time with the label he said “I think it’s been awesome with him and then if the deal comes now and he wants us to do something why not?”

Akwaboah is currently promoting his new song titled “Gangster Love”
