It was all joy and merrymaking at the Royal Seed Orphanage this Christmas season as non-profit NGO My Help – Your – Help Foundation donated items as part of their objective of putting smiles on the faces of children.

The items ranging from items such as rice, chocolate beverages, and milk, also included air conditioners for the dormitories which housed the over 200 children with a cash donation also added.

President and founder of the Foundation Nicholas Koffie who doubles as a banker said the foundation focuses on visiting orphanages while occasionally performing health screening for some communities. An orphan himself, Mr Koffie said the strongest motivation has been to give back to the place which made him who he is.

“As an orphan myself, growing up wasn’t easy and I promised to help out orphanages whenever I can and for me that’s why I will continue to do this. I receive support from a lot of people to put all these things together, some of my colleagues at work other ms from within my community and church.”

For him, parents must be responsible for their children. ” I hear people throwing their babies away and I find it disheartening. Children are a gift from God and they shouldn’t be thrown away like that.”

He wants individuals to also take up the mandate of going out of their way to help put smiles on the faces of children.

On her apart, owner of the Orphanage, Mawuli Esi Amoah could not hide her excitement and joy. She thanked the foundation for their support while cautioning young girls not to indiscriminately abandon their infants.
