The prosecution in the case in which ACP Benjamin Agordzo and nine others are being held for allegedly plotting to destabilise the state has said the police has forwarded the case docket to the Attorney General’s Office for “instruction on their next line of action.”

In court, on Wednesday before the Kaneshie District Court presided over Her Worship Mrs Eleanor Bance Botwe, ASP Sylvester Asare informed the court that they have forwarded the case docket to the AGs office and are waiting for the AGs advice on the docket.

“My Lady, the police has forwarded the case docket to the Attorney General’s Department for a study and advice,” ASP Asare informed the court.

Under the circumstances, however, the prosecution prayed for the remand warrant of the suspects to be remanded at their previous custody.

The case has subsequently been adjourned to Jan 23.

Order for disclosure

Starr News’ Court Correspondent, Muntalla Inusah who was in court reported that lawyers of the suspects have filed a motion on notice for an order of disclosure of evidence by the prosecution.

The motion according to Lawyer Vvictor Kodjogah Adawudu has been served on the prosecutor.

ASP Asare, however, indicated to the court they have received the said motion but were short served. He, however, prayed for time to be able to study the Motion and file its affidavits in opposition as per the statutes.

CHARGES

ACP Agordzo, Dr Frederick Yao Mac Palm, Denyo Kafui and Bright Allan Debrah Ofosu together with six others have been charged with conspiracy to commit treason felony and treason.

All the 10 suspects were present in court.
