Let me start by referring you to some articles written and published on starrfm.com.gh and kasapafmonline.com last year.

One of the articles which focused on the NDC primaries stated categorically that Delegates at Afram Plains South constituency ‘will never disappoint’ the former MP Joseph Appiah Boateng as he returned to contest the seat the reason being that, the number of projects established under his tenure as Member of Parliament in the area were extraordinary as compared to others.

The publication was also based on a survey conducted when over 80% residents called for his return to rescue them on so many issues. Joseph Appiah Boateng (JAB1) won the election and became 2020 parliamentary candidate for Afram Plains South Constituency for the NDC.

Moreover, I once published an article titled Bryan Acheampong is a workaholic MP who deserves to be honoured. In the said article also, I outlined the numerous projects established since he assumed office as MP.

Few months after the article, UG report also ranked Mr. Bryan Acheampong 3rd Most hardworking MP but first in Eastern Region.

My publications are based with facts and evidence so when the oppositions insult me I see them as jokers who don’t want the truth to be told.

On the main issue: Nkawkaw is a town in southern Ghana and it is the capital of Kwahu West Municipality in the Eastern Region.

It is the stronghold of the ruling New Patriotic Party which has been consistently been winning since 1996 except 2008 when Managing Director of Shaaba Enterprise Limited Mr Seth Agyei Baah was elected on his own ticket and won a majority of 5,821 votes more than candidate closest in the race, to win the constituency election to become the Member of Parliament.

He succeeded Kwabena Adusah Okerchiri who had represented the constituency in the 4th Republican Parliament on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and has served for the 3rd times thus twelve years.

I don’t want to talk much about the history of Nkawkaw so addressing the matter on board, my checks revealed residents at Nkawkaw need a fresh leader as the party set April 25 to elect their Parliamentary candidates.

This follows a survey conducted since last year. The constituents which include drivers, traders, students, public servants, religious bodies, journalists and others expressed anger and threaten to vote skirt and blouse should delegates fail to change leadership.

Most of these people revealed they are card bearing NPP members who need change.

In-terms of developing Nkawkaw, past and present leaders have done their part so, to me they must be respected for their role in leadership.

One major problem confronting Nkawkaw constituency is the poor state of roads across board. Areas include, Fodoa, Jejeti, Asuboni Rails, Kofi Dede-Aprahwiem, Nkawkaw Township, Nkawkaw-Abirem roads look bad as residents keep expressing disappointment over past and present government failure to ensure the problems are solved.

In a secret video recording, a female delegate was also heard urging a group of people who are said to be delegates of the ruling New Patriotic Party at Nkawkaw constituency to vote massively for one Human Rights Lawyer Joyce Opoku Boateng.

The video captured the woman saying, ‘’delegates, you have all heard what the people are saying; please lets listen to the cry of the people. If we fail to bring in a new leader, they are going to vote skirt and blouse and this will affect the party. Let’s vote Joyce Opoku Boateng’’.

To me, I wasn’t much surprised upon hearing what the woman claimed. Residents who spoke to me, expressed anger over the current state of Nkawkaw especially the various town roads.

For them, the president may not know the current happenings but it is the responsibility of the various leaders to lobby for the betterment of Nkawkaw.

‘’some of us, we love the NPP, but our leaders have failed us, if delegates fail to make change, we will decide not vote or skirt and blouse will be the next option’’.
This article has not declared who wins Nkawkaw seat, but per the survey conducted, the possibility for Lawyer Joyce Opoku Boateng to win is high if the cry of the people is the same as delegates.

The future of Nkawkaw depends on delegates although residents are angry and their main worry is the poor state of roads in the various areas.

The new face of the race, CEO Of Ghana Publishing Company and Convener of Let My Vote Count Alliance; David Asante according to the survey needs to do more.
On his part, Joseph Frimpong, another aspirant did not receive much recognition in the race, same happened to David Asante. Joseph Frimpong although is much recognized in the party, some people alleged he is been financed by another leading member of the NPP which he might not be able to carry on his duties if the necessary support is not received by his backbone.

NOTE: This article did not add voices by supporters of the various aspirants…

In addition, despite effort put by past and present leaders to ensure the success of Nkawkaw, residents only expressed readiness to welcome a new face, and a woman to lead the NPP into 2020 election.

The state of Nkawkaw ROADS can cause a change, but I keep asking, who wins Nkawkaw seat come April 25? Although people are very angry, the future depends on delegates.
